In her award-winning work on the topic “In vitro characterisation of a hydrogel matrix for minced cartilage repair”, she investigated whether hydrogel-based scaffolds made from human knee joint cartilage could serve as a potential material for the treatment of cartilage defects and how they perform compared to existing methods. The scaffolds showed promising results in the detection of cartilage-associated matrix proteins and collagens.
These findings point the way for future research into clinical translation.
