How can innovative technologies open up new possibilities for medicine? This is the central question addressed by the event “Medicine Meets Technology” at the Wismar University of Applied Sciences campus. Taking place for the second time, the event is the result of a collaboration between Rostock University Medical Center and Wismar University of Applied Sciences.
The medicine of the future is difficult to imagine without modern technologies. Artificial intelligence, robotics, digital diagnostics, and innovative medical technologies are creating new opportunities—particularly when research findings pave the way for new medical applications.
PD Dr. Nadja Engel, subproject leader of C01 within Collaborative Research Centre 1270 ELAINE, demonstrates how medicine and technology can be brought together through research. In her talk, she will present current research findings from the CRC on “Closed-Loop Implants for Bone Regeneration: Electrical Stimulation and Impedance-Based Monitoring in the Mandible.”
Her presentation will offer insights into research on intelligent implants that combine electrical stimulation with impedance-based monitoring to explore new approaches to bone regeneration. It also illustrates how Collaborative Research Centre 1270 ELAINE brings together medical challenges and innovative technologies through interdisciplinary research.
