On 10 July 2025, Prof. Dr. Ursula van Rienen, our spokesperson, gave an invited talk at the Colloquium of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at the University of Duisburg-Essen. She was invited by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Thomas Kaiser, spokesperson of the CRC/TRR 196 MARIE ("Mobile Material Characterisation and Localisation by Electromagnetic Sensing").
Titled 'Intelligent Stimulators and Multiscale Modelling for Electrically Active Implants – Insights from the SFB 1270 ELAINE', her presentation offered a concise overview of ELAINE’s latest contributions to modelling and hardware development for movement disorders and tissue regeneration.
The talk addressed:
- ELAINE’s modular, programmable stimulation platform for long-term adaptive preclinical experiments
- A digital twin for cell experiments with bone cells
- Multiscale, multiphysics modelling for deep brain stimulation
We would like to thank our hosts for the kind invitation and the engaged audience for the stimulating discussion, especially the active participation of early-career researchers!
