Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini Receives Prestigious Award of the European Society for Biomaterials

We are thrilled to announce that Prof. Aldo Roberto Boccaccini, Principal Investigator in subproject B01 of our SFB 1270 ELAINE, has been honored with the prestigious George Winter Award by the European Society for Biomaterials (ESB). This accolade recognizes his pioneering contributions to the field of biomaterials.

At the 34th Annual Conference of the ESB 2025 in Turin, Italy, Prof. Boccaccini delivered a plenary lecture that was among the highlights of the congress, attended by over 1,000 participants from around the world.
As a globally recognized expert in bioactive materials, tissue engineering scaffolds, and nanomaterials for drug delivery, Prof. Boccaccini has authored over 1,100 scientific papers and mentored more than 70 PhD students. His visionary research in ceramics, glasses, and composites has significantly shaped modern biomaterials science.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Prof. Boccaccini for this well-deserved recognition and look forward to his continued leadership and innovation in the field.
